TOLERANCE RINGS
A tolerance ring is a corrugated steel or stainless steel strip that acts as an interface between two mechanical objects, to secure one to the other by interference fit. The corrugations (or waves) of the tolerance ring act like springs, fastening the two components together. Often they are used to fit bearings into a housing (AN type) or onto a shaft (BN type) but there are many other applications. Further technical information on tolerance rings.
Please see our guide to selecting the correct tolerance ring.
