APPLICATION & DESIGN EXAMPLE -
3 AXiS (XYZ) SYSTEM
A 3 axis system which uses Combined Roller Bearings in the X, Y and Z axes. In this application example the forklift travels along the rails between the aisles. It is possible for multiple forklifts to share the same rails.
The diagram shows a single stage mast for simplicity, but this could be extended to form a duplex mast with another set of bearings and rails.
Typical applications include pallet transfer, warehouse automation, storage and retrieval systems, lifting and travelling units
The combined roller bearings are shown with the mounting plates. The bearings can also be welded directly to the structure. However the plates do make maintenance much easier as they can simply be unbolted & replaced, reducing downtime.
